We believe applicants should understand what the job involves before applying. The information below provides a straightforward overview of a typical delivery day.

THE ROLE

YOUR DELIVER DAY

​ARRIVE AND CHECK IN

Arrive at the delivery station at the scheduled time, check in with the ROK Logistics team and receive the information needed for the day.

COMPLETE VEHICLE CHECKS

Carry out the required safety inspection before leaving the station and report any damage or defects immediately.

LOAD YOUR VEHICLE

Collect and load the parcels allocated to your route, following the station's loading process. Parcels are pre packed into bags and staged by Amazon ready for. drivers to collect.

COMPLETE YOUR ROUTE

Use the delivery app to navigate between stops and deliver parcels safely, accurately and professionally.

STAY IN CONTACT

Communicate with the support team throughout the day and raise any safety, vehicle, route or customer issues promptly.

RETURN TO STATION

Return to the station, complete the required end-of-route procedures and hand back any undelivered parcels or equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Applicants will need:- 

A full UK or EU driving licence acceptable under the relevant vacancy and insurance requirements

The legal right to work in the UK

Confidence driving a delivery van safely

The physical ability to enter and exit the vehicle frequently and handle parcels of different sizes

A suitable smartphone where required

Good communication and customer-service skills

Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude

The ability to work independently while remaining part of a wider team

Initial onboarding and fully paid delivery training

Guidance on the delivery app and route procedures

Assistance when issues arise on the road

PAY AND WORKING ARRANGEMENTS

ONBOARDING AND TRAINING

Complete the required checks, onboarding steps and training. Prior to your first day delivering, you will have two ride along routes alongside an experienced driver to take you through every process.

INITIAL CONVERSATION

A member of the recruitment team will contact suitable applicants to discuss the role and answer initial questions.

BEGIN DELIVERING

Once all requirements have been completed successfully, you will be allocated your first supported delivery routes.
